The installation process:
- In the hosts prescribed to the well-known line, blocking authenticated serial, thus allowing to receive updates;
- Imported to the registry information on the integrated updates (for windows update);
- Automatically set to "Compatibility Pack" and updates to it.

For some Microsoft Office programs required additional items or services:
Speech recognition requires Pentium II processor with 400 MHz or higher.
For an application Microsoft Office InfoPath ™ 2003 requires Microsoft Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later.
To enter handwritten notes into Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 requires a device with pen-to-understand digital ink.
To use the advanced collaboration features in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 may require Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
To use the functionality of the Internet requires a separate dial-up connection or broadband access.
