Advantage Database Server (ADS), created by Extended Systems, is a product that can be of considerable interest to companies that still operate applications that store data in dBase or Paradox tables. These can be applications created using Clipper, dBase, FoxPro or through more modern development tools (for example, Borland Delphi).

Formally, ADS is a database server that performs requests for client applications. In fact, this server is an application that, processing user requests, can manipulate both data stored in files of its own "closed" format, and dBase files (with indexes of Clipper or FoxPro formats) in which many applications of a decade old were stored data .
